I would like to learn a little more of the boats story too, but I probably never will.
Instead of the boats story, I can tell a little story about where the image comes from.
We are a little group of old friends who now and then go for some cultural events or exhibitions together. This time we were visiting the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. No first visit in Amsterdam without a tour on the channels. In most of the channels there are many house boats. Boats that have been in use many years ago and now serve as living place for people. The quality of these boats range from high luxury to – yes, something like this boat. This one with it’s multicolors caught my attention.

That is a nice story, thank you. Did you enjoy visiting Amsterdam ? I went there years ago and thought it was a lively and pleasant city to visit. I went to the Rijks museum, so much beauty !
I’m glad you liked the story. I enjoyed Amsterdam, and did also go to Rijks Museum. The original paintings by Rembrandt are so beautiful with many details that disappear in reproductions. Just to mention one among many great artists. The Rijks Museum is ‘a must’ if you’re interested in classical arts.
I don’t know if I’m going back to Amsterdam, there are so many places I haven’t seen yet.
