Vacation

Vacation is the theme for Scott Thomas’ latest assignment.
It is difficult to illustrate the relaxing effect of vacations. For me personally, I’m happy with walking around and watching new places. In mid October we were in Berlin. Here is a small fraction of the snapshots from that vacation. Let the images and their captions speak for themselves.
You can ask for details.

Berlin is a very nice city for tourists. Only 4½ hours by ferry and car from Denmark and cheap compared to Danish prices.

7 tanker om “Vacation”

  1. A very nice tour of some places in Berlin, thanks Carsten. I lived there at a time when Berlin was an island and was still named “West Berlin”. Great changes have occurred there and elsewhere. You brought back lots of memories of places, people, events, I enjoyed looking at your interesting pictures.

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed the few views from Berlin.
When you visit Berlin today it is very difficult to imagine how it was when DDR surrounded West Berlin. I was driving through for the first time in 1991. It was very different from now.
We were touched after visiting the memorial of The Wall with inscriptions about all the people that lost their life trying to escape into the West Zone.
But again: Berlin is a wonderful city. Also in autumn.

    1. Thanks for the visit Dawn.
Berlin is certainly a good metropol for vacations. I’m sure you will enjoy it. Maybe you can do a little planning ahead. It’s nice to know a few restaurants and places to visit.

  2. Lovely shots! I’ve been to Berlin a few times as a teenager, but haven’t been back in years – I must change that! it’s such a cool city.

    1. I do hope that you’ll get a chance to go back soon.
I’d like to go to Eire and experience as much as possible of what I believe is a beautiful country with friendly people.
Send me a thought when you come to Berlin. – Or Denmark 🙂
