Jane Harnfeldt | Jane Harnfeldt

The worst part of life is waiting. The best part of life is having someone worth waiting for.

Vores kære veninde gennem mange år er ikke længere hos os.
Our dear friend through many years is no longer with us.

For many years I’ve been looking forward to the annual spring meeting with old colleagues. The youngest of us, Jane, died suddenly Thursday 8th. of March. Only 57 years was given her.
I have known her since we were young back in 1975.
She was as a very positive person who loved people and life. Joy was her in her companion.

Waiting is ok, but don’t forget living.

This photo was her own choice for her Facebook profile. I grabbed it there.

  1. Carsten, my sympathy on the loss of your friend. You describe a person of depth and great warmth – exactly the sort of person who would be your friend. You were both blessed by your long friendship.

  2. Oh, Carsten. So sorry for your loss. Never easy to lose a friend, and one so young and so sudden. Your words are beautiful and certainly, ones to live by. Hugs.

  3. Thanks to all of you. As you probably have seen, our daughter is expecting to double the familys new generation early in the autumn.
Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to the familys oldest recently. The cremation services will be tomorrow. More on this later.
I have not been blogging much lately. Much have been against – one thing is that I can’t write comments on the wordpress blogs I used to. I just get a message saying that my e-mail adress is reserved by another blogger. Must investigate it someday…

  4. Carsten, I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend and also your mother-in-law. I guess that’s the problem with getting older—we lose more people who are close to us. This November 18 will be two years since my mother passed and sometimes I feel like I could just pick up the phone and call her, but then I realize that I can’t. We were lucky that she had the strength to fight ovarian cancer for 11 years—so many people with such a diagnosis don’t get half that long. I hope you are well!

    1. Thanks for your kind comment Cindy.
You’re right. We are loosing friends and family as we become older. My mother passed away early in 2010, few weeks after her cancer diagnosis. My mother-in-law left in April this spring. One year after her diagnosis. We have lost just too many friends during the last year.
Fortunately there are many small children around. We’re waiting for our daughters first baby to arrive in a few weeks 🙂
